Headcanon 08 — The Birds and the Bees.
Edward refuses to tell Annie about “the birds and the bees“—however, he has no problem telling Alric. So, the duty of telling Anneliese when time is appropriate falls onto Winry’s shoulders. Really, he feels the father should tell the son and the mother should tell the daughter.
He never truly had it explained to himself—he more or less learned the general idea of reproduction through books. Hence his overzealous reaction to that baby being born during his first visit to Rush Valley.

“Well you are quite cute.” Dane included, a slight tint of rose on her cheeks. She smiled and patted his shoulder. “Just take the compiment, hon’.” The words escaped with a giggle.
“You’re wrong. You want cute?” Edward huffed, fishing out his wallet, “here!” Yanking from said wallet two pictures, one of his son and daughter, the other of his entire family, him, Winry, Alphonse and May plus a couple others all included.
“Now, pictures like these are cute!” Ed protested to Dane’s comment. “See? Just look at my little Alric! And Anneliese, isn’t she just like her mommy?” Pardon Ed, he’s having a Hughes moment…
